Getting the Party Started

Philosophy

Most people believe in elements of Libertarianism, it is a broad tent, while still principled. Libertarianism is centered around the non-aggression Principle, saying each person owns themselves, the fruits of their labor, and an act of aggression or another person or their property is wrong.

Most people believe that there is a limit to the justified use of force by Government. Whether it's Police Brutality, Excessive Taxation, Eminent Domain, etc., there is a limit to the justified use of force.

As Libertarians we believe that voluntary interactions are much better than coercion and force, which taxation and laws are. To the degree we can, it is better to replace Government action with Private voluntary action. So, that being said, why form a political party and try to influence Government when we believe in less Government? It's important to get involved in the political process for the sake of reducing the mandatory elements of our society. This Begins with trying to try and create the voluntary society we want to see, including helping the poor, elderly, the environment, people with special needs, and other things which will help replace the over reaches of Government. The best place to do this is at a local level. Let's do it in Rensselaer County.

What We Want to Accomplish

1. Elect Libertarian Candidates in Rensselaer County.

2. Implement Libertarian Policy Positions by any means possible.

3. Organize Volunteer Efforts in our Community.
